Bench · macOS app

Claude Science as a real Mac app.

Eight of Bench's animated lab specimens playing: a pipette aliquoting, a cell dividing, distillation, a kinesin motor, CRISPR, a curve fit, a centrifuge and planaria.

What it adds

The floating panel while a session works: a specimen playing, and the session's name, project and running time.

Lab specimens

While a session works, one of 487 little animated lab specimens plays in a glass panel in the corner of your screen.

The panel's card when a session asked a question, with Open and Later buttons.

A card when it needs you

When a session needs your input, a card takes you straight to it. Other cards tell you when your plan or your context is nearly used up.

The activity list under the toolbar: two sessions waiting on you, one stopped with an error, two working with their clocks, and recent sessions below.

One list of what is waiting

The toolbar lists the sessions that need you, the ones still working, and the ones that recently finished.

The title bar: a working session's timer, the context ring at 9%, and 54% of the plan left, resetting in 1 hour 28 minutes.

Context and plan, in the title bar

The title bar shows how much context the open session has used, how much of your plan is left, and when it resets.

A real Mac app

A toolbar, menus, keyboard shortcuts, Settings and Find. A 3 MB download that uses the WebKit already built into macOS.

Keeps to itself

No Bench account, no analytics, no telemetry, no update checks. Bench only talks to Claude Science running on your own Mac.

Bench is available now.
